An now a little information about your Hostess

And now we interrupting your castle tour for this important announcement (ok it's important to me you know). Yes, that is a picture of me taken back in 1998, when my hair was multi colored. Everything changes with age and a dye bottle.

A little about myself. I'm  a child of the '60's 1960 to be persist. I was only 8 when the "flower child" fad hit and it never came to our house except with the news. Yea, I missed it all. The 70's were so so years very much like the 90's.

I was born in the year of the rat some time in the late afternoon. So, not only do I like rats but also tend to be a night person. Anyone trying to wake me up at 7am deserves the "boot to the head". [Very old joke there.]

Some time in 1979 I met this guy (well he had more hair then and the beard looked better] in one of the collage courses I took in Graphic Arts and told him to bugger off. Ended up marrying him. [It's a first child curse in my family to always tell your future spouse to take a hike and end up marrying them.] I have been married to the Myron since November 12, 1983 and plan to stay that way until one of us dies. I have told hubby that if he goes first I'll cremate him and stick him on the mantel. Then tell everyone, "This one's my first husband and here's my second..." He just turned 45 and now is taking me seriously. I started collecting fancy bottle around the house. (Just a joke dear, really....wink)

I have 2 daughters who where born 8 years apart. It's like having the first child twice but the second time you need a bottle of oxygen to just keep up. Ever try to keep a 13 year old and a 6 year old from killing each other. I feel sorry for the guys they finally marry. Your all doomed.

This is a picture of Renee' the 6 year old last Christmas. She's cute and knows it. Renee' is a handful. she's always on the go and very good at getting into trouble.

This is a picture of Joanne-Isabel our eldest daughter in her SCA / Halloween garb. She's laughing at her Aunt Michelle what is making faces to get her to do something for the picture.

Isabel's goal (she decided to stop using Joanne because some boy told her Isabel sounded so  nice ...Yes she's a teenager.) is to become a SCA fighter. Just what you guys all need a gal who can beat you up the side of the head with a rattan sword and be Queen in her own right.

This summer Isabel had her picture in the local newspaper. She prevent several kids in the park's creek from being bite by a baby copperhead snake.  No, she did not kill the snake. I have taught both my kids to respect wild life. Instead thanks to Animal Planet and her cool headed mother's instructions she used a stick to trap the snake's head. She then carefully picked up the snake behind it's head and supporting it's body and took it up into the brush away from the kids. Then she let it go. the kids were fine and the snake lived to see another day. No one was bitten and all was right with the world. I'll have the article in here when we can get the scanner working. Isabel said it was no big deal.

[Isabel is something special and don't tell her that I'm proud she's my daughter. It will just give her an excuse not to clean up her room.]

For years I have rescued garner snakes from panicking neighbors and let them go in the woods. Because of the areas we have lived in I have always told the kids to not panic and understand that animals are there for a reason.

Here's a picture of my Sister Michelle. She's a truck driver and does a great job. She loves seeing the country from her truck. She's engaged to a very sweet guy named David. I hope they have a great life together.

We have 3 cats in our house (since you never really own a cat). One was born in Seattle on January 13th 1994 and is named Ambrosia Morning Star. [See the picture on the right] He's black with 2 white stars on his chest and tummy he has a really a mellow spirit. He's the son of a son of a Walla Walla farm cat. He lets the kids use him as a pillow. Saltwater Taffy or just Taffy came to us in 1998 she's black and paranoid. Her hips were not formed correctly but she doesn't know it. This is the only cat I know of that plays "Fetch"....all night long with a bunny fur ball. She's my cat or I just might be her pet. And last is Saber the white cat. At Petsmart I told my husband that he had to see this white cat. He when over to her and put his hand between the bars of the cage. She proceeded to bite him. So he bought the cat. Go figure. She came to us a thin little ex-mommy cat and is now a fat lay-about.

And now to our dog Zandra. She is a "wooly" Siberian Husky. It was about time since we now have a huge back yard to get a dog for the family. Zandra is approx. 3 years old and is a wonderful huge dog. Everyone loves her and she loves everyone. The only odd thing about Zandra is she can't tell the difference between a pole cat (skunk) and a real cat. Every once in a while she wears O'de La Peeuuu.

And lastly our rats. Over the past 4 years we have had several wonderful loving rats. Most of them have passed away and I really wished they live as long as cats. Here is a list of our little loves that have passed on: Cappuccino "Cappy" (pictured to the right) (m)-Grandpa rat and king of the Rust rat clan, he was Isabel's best friend and lived for almost 3 years; Lulu (f)- Mommy rat queen of our rat clan she was the best mother rat every; Stripe (m)- only rat I knew that slept on top of the sleeping ball; Moca (m) Stripe's brother and a sweet rat; Dippsy (f) our talky rat, she always greeting all the baby rats with little grunts and chuckles she was a good aunti rat; Gilmore(m) our first black and white rat he was very gentle and loved Renee',  GilGil (m) a beautiful blue who was very gentle and loved Renee'; Tom (m) papa of the Stooges; CoCo (m) our only rescue rat, he was sweet; Bluie (f) mother of the Stooges; Shep (m) one of the 4 Stooge rats and my little love Storm (m) he was very loving rat who acted like a baby all his life. He would sleep on his back and loved to play. Both Storm and Cappuccino were the rats that seem to have souls.  They both were bigger than life.

Right now we have left the other 3 stooges all males and Brownie and funny little female rat.

I use to own a shop in Omaha, Nebraska but due to my health and my husband 's job relocating I was forced to close it down. I'm still making ends meet to pay off the bills. It's not easy.

I'm an artist and love to work with different materials. I make wirework jewelry, costumes, chainmail, illuminations, needle work and create web pages and Graphics. I tell stories that everyone wants me to write down. And I enjoy writing free verse poetry.

One friend summed me up long ago, she tells everyone that I'm "Spontaneous Combustion". Could my being born on February 5th have anything to do with it? Na.

I have been a member off and on of the SCA (SCA.org) for the past 24 years. And currently working on creating a canton called Hartsbane in Northern Virginia.

Well enjoy the Castle. I will be adding little things here and there. So visit often.

A Sound in the night--

I sleep, and feel a light breath touch my face.

I'm afraid to open my eyes less you only be a dream.

I sleep, and shiver as a soft sigh flow over my body.

I pray it is you oh, so close and near.

I sleep, and feel a light touch upon the sheets.

I open my eyes reaching out for you with desire.

But, it is only the night breeze from my open window.

I cry until again sleep captures my mind and the longing for you brings me no peace.

Together

Let you be mine this day.

And I be yours forever more.

Together let us become one and stand the test of time.

And our children tell our story.

- Jazelle

I remember my Grand- father telling us stories.

Mainly to keep us kids out of trouble.

He told about when he was a boy in South Dakota. And how he had to fight his was to and from school ever day.

[Grandmother laughs lightly in the other room as she makes dinner]

He tells us of the times he was a young man courting this little slip of a girl.

[Grandmother just says "Robert!"]

And he changes the story to when he was in the last Boxer Rebellion in China. And shows where a bullet grazed his ankle.

[Grandmother is quiet in the kitchen]

He never talked about the child they lost. Or how hard it was in the depression and Dust Bowl.

[Grandmother tells us about the hard times late at night]

Grandfather talked about crawling on skyscrapers just like a little spider way up in the sky.

[Grandmother remembers he fell once. And the other man with him died.]

Grandfather is hungry so he now start saying some really old jokes, that were old when he was young.

He leaves us laughing over some silly joke that we always get a kick out of.

[He comes over and hugs Grandmother an gives her a kiss. Very quietly you can hear him say "I love you".]

Dinner is ready.
