Fate’s Blade

Oh Fate.
Thee are akin to a jeweled encrusted two-sided sword,
gleaming in the cold night.

Icy cold steel, unyielding, uncaring
riding the hot passage of time’s every lengthening fingers.

The blade draws its victims in
with many spicy scented dreams floating upon the air,
Only, to ensnare the unwary,
with its hopeful, bitter-sweet, taste of revenge.

Oh Fate,
Thy ever slick silvery, agonizing, indifferent blade
art always ready to reap, thy dues,
upon both the wielder and prey.
