Mommy I want

I heard it all day long and through the night. 

"I want a toy! 
I want a bike!" 
"I want the boy down the street to like me." 
"I want him to go away." 
"I want candy. 
I want cake." 
"I want a kitten. 
I want a snake!" 

NOW HEAR THIS! 
I want to scream! 

Mommy wants the following: 
I want a bubble bath and a good book. 
I want a glass of wine and to be alone. 
I want soft music and candles to light the way. 
And most of all I want a lock on the bathroom door! 

Then all the wants suddenly fade away, until there is just one I here this day.

"I want Mommy."
